Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel, the inventor of little black dress. What else do you know about her?
Starring the lovely Audrey Tautou, the movie, directed by Anne Fontaine, tells the story of this magnificent designer that changed the world of fashion.
At the time, women from high class society were wearing jewels, feathers and corsets, Coco Chanel grew up in an orphanage raised by nuns dressed in black and white, which strongly influenced her own style. Rejecting the normal fashion of the time she started wearing mens clothes, and you will notice in this movie even wearing pajamas she radiates style and elegance. The focus of the director wasn't just fashion but how even Chanel's love stories gave her passion of who she wanted to be.




The main reason for our love of this movie:
The way Chanel falls in love with her famous influences like the black & white, the sailor t-shirt, bows and lace and the different histories behind them all.

British Department Store Topshop has confirmed, they will be opening a new store in New Zealand, this April. The retail shop will be in Takapuna, Auckland and famous designer Karen Walker (Chique Loves!) just went on a trip to London to choose items for the fashion store.

What we just loooooove about her is how she can put together vintage eclectic choices with hype designer classics and always looks gorgeous. I heard in an interview that she hates dressing up because doesn't feel like herself. One thing is right though: she really knows what looks great on her. Comfortable but Chique!

Glassons has a new face

Yesterday was the reopening of the new face of Glassons in Westfield Riccarton. Lots of fashionistas were there to check out the store's new look. A party was thrown to celebrate the opening with a guest DJ, heaps of spot prizes and a first look at the new winter session fashion line. Big complements to the designer of the new window displays and fit out, straight from the streets from New York City. By far the best looking store in Christchurch. A definite must see. Get down there and check it out... G looks GREAT!
